Remember this awesome couple? Their foodie wedding in St.Lawrence Market was fantastically fun, filled with warm loving speeches & hilarious hijinx. I feel so honoured to have been a part of this celebration.
Liz & Evan’s wedding day was actually kind of rainy, but you’d never know it – everything was so bright and lively that day! Right in the heart of Toronto on Queen Street West, their wedding was deeply infused with their lightheartedness, their tightly knit friendships, and featured a bar with Evan’s homebrewed craft beer – does it get any better?
On the day before Thanksgiving, I drove up to Muskoka along tree-lined roads bursting with fall colours to photograph Carla and Kenwrick at Kenwrick’s family’s cottage. Their cottage is so remote that you have to take a 10 minute boat ride to get there. Talk about the perfect place to spend a sunny Saturday in October! Stay tuned for their wedding – I can’t wait!
Amy & Tyler braved one of the hottest days of the year for our session down on the waterfront. We thought that it would be cooler down by the water but it was nearly unbearable! They did a good job of pretending to enjoy being close to each other despite the steamy temperature that day. We finished the session with a cold drink & some good food at Buster Rhino’s, a personal favourite for all 3 of us!
Also… How cute is their dog Lily? As we were planning their session, I couldn’t get this song out of my head.
I’ve been so lucky to get to do so many cottage engagement sessions this year, in all types of weather! Vi & Dan’s winter session in Kirkfield kicked it off, and now I’ve got this adorable summer cottage session to share with you. Evan & Liz are getting married on Queen Street West in a few weeks on the same night as Nuit Blanche, which should be a ton of fun… I can’t wait to spend some more camera time with these two!
This snowy engagement session was so much fun for all of us! Vi & Dan asked if we could do their engagement photos out at Dan’s parents’ place on Balsam Lake. His family has a lot of history in the area, plus it’s just plain gorgeous there in the winter. So, on a sunny -20C day, we spent a few hours romping around with their dog Willam. Snow was thrown, hot chocolate was consumed. It was a perfect afternoon and I can’t wait for their wedding this summer!
Evan and Kristi’s wedding was an absolute pleasure to photograph for a huge list of reasons: First, I’ve been friends with Evan and some of his groomsmen for over a decade. Second, every single detail of their wedding was perfectly thought out and craftily executed. Third, the cutest kids ever!! And fourth: Vera Wang bridesmaid dresses – absolutely stunning!
Evan and Kristi and their entire wedding party were hilarious, and very good sports about standing outside in the not-so-warm October afternoon for pictures. I loved every location we shot in, but I especially loved shooting inside Myrtleville House. I grew up in Brantford and used to go there on class trips but I hadn’t been in about 20 years! There is something so fun about museum staff saying, “Oh, just move those velvet ropes aside, you’re allowed to sit on the furniture!” So much fun.
Renee and Rebecca love good food, good beer, and each other. They also love to have fun. If you put all of these things together, you get the most heart-felt and fun-loving wedding you’ve ever attended at a German-style beer hall. What’s that? You’ve never attended a wedding at a German-style beer hall? Well, you really should try it one of these days. It’s pretty great. What else can I say about this wedding? You should probably just look at these pictures. I dare you to look at them all without smiling!
Since Kara and Monique met on a Dragonboat team years ago, they’ve been through a lot together. Their heartfelt wedding at Dundurn Castle in Hamilton was full of the same kind of love that kept them going through hard times. There are so many little details about this wedding that you’re going to love: Flowergirls with rainbow pinwheels, handmade bouquets, love notes, Wizard of Oz-inspired ruby red slippers, and a choreographed first dance. Yes, Kara and Monique surprised their guests at the reception by breaking into a choreographed dance to Timber, and the room burst into thrilled applause!
Thank you for choosing me to capture your celebration, Kara and Monique! I am sure that you will share many days as happy as the one that I shared with you.
